Open the Eyes of My Heart

Our senior funday at the Gautier water park. Water park? How did they ever convince me to go? You see one good old summer day I was at a friend’s house to swim. There was 3ft, 4ft and so on up to 10ft. Well, I don’t even know why I was at a pool seeing as how I couldn’t swim anyway. First mistake. I was on the 3ft and it looked like everyone was having fun over in the 10ft. Until my cousin convinced me to join them in the 10ft and assured me they wouldn’t let anything happen to me. Ha! My brave little self went for it. Before I knew it, I was at the bottom of the pool drowning. That day was surely one for the books as it almost ended as fast as it started.

Now back to the senior trip. Yes, after some persuasion, my classmates talked me into going. This guy named Robert was going to get me to go down the huge waterslide that had a pool at the end. I get up the nerve and we walk up ramp and we go down the slide together. Oh what fun until we got to the pool at the end. I had my eyes closed all the way down the slide and upon entering the pool. All of the water rushing over my head made me panic. I am screaming at the top of my lungs and he’s got me, but I feel like I’m drowning. He calmly says, “Open your eyes.” When I did, I realized I’m standing in less than two feet of water. It literally didn’t come up to my ankles.

In both instances, someone was there to assure me they had me and at arms length away to save me should something happen. There is so many points and take aways from both of these moments in time. God has never left me nor forsaken me. He has always been there to save me. Either time, all I had to do is “OPEN MY EYES!” There was a calmness and peace that washed over me when I eyes were open to see there was either no danger or the threat of danger had dissipated as there was someone there with open arms to save me. So my payer to God is open the eyes of my heart Lord, I want to see you! My God today, the invitation is waiting. Open it and join me in this prayer for God to open the eyes of our hearts so we may see Him and all His Glory. I Love you, Lord!!!

Traveling in the Wrong Direction

One time, I was driving on I-10 West and something strange happened. My car got really close to another car on the bridge. It was like we were stuck together, moving in perfect sync without crashing.
